List of Movies Releasing in 2015

2015 might become the golden year or better say the most profitable year to the film industry. After all the year marks the release of most talked about sequels like Star Wars Episode VII and The Avengers 2. Around 200 movies are going to release globally in the year 2015. Earlier Batman VS Superman was going to release in 2015 but it was pushed to 2016 release date.
Last year only two movies (Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies) were able to touch the golden $1 billion mark. But this year will surely change the rankings in the highest grossing Hollywood films of all time. While Star Wars Episode VII and The Avengers 2 are already predicted to give a strong competition to AVATAR’s earnings, movies like Furious 7, Jurassic World, Terminator Genisys, Ant-Man, Spectre, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 and Mission Impossible 5 are seen as the dark horses in the $1 Billion race.
Here is the complete list of films that are going to release in the year 2015:
LIST OF MOVIES RELEASING IN SEPTEMBER 2015 AND OCTOBER 2015:

SEPTEMBER 2015

September 25

Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015)

Certificate PG   -   Animation | Comedy | Family | Fantasy
Dracula and his friends try to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson in order to keep Mavis from leaving the hotel.
Director:Genndy Tartakovsky
Stars:Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James
The Buzz: Audiences visited Hotel Transylvania the first time because the oddball setting still had a relatable premise: a father's concerns for his teenage daughter and her first big crush. Match this with fan favorite animator Genndy Tartakovsky's vision and direction, and you have a worldwide hit and new franchise. The second chapter seems a bit convoluted, as sequels can be, and the humor seems to be a bit more cutting. We also noted that Adam Sandler has a screenwriting credit this time around, which was not the case with the original, so our fangs are bared a bit. With Mel Brooks joining the cast as Vlad, the uber vampire patriarch, we're getting a sinking feeling that HT2 could be the animated equivalent of Meet the Fockers.

The Intern (2015)

Certificate PG-13   -   Comedy
70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker has discovered that retirement isn't all it's cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin.
Director:Nancy Meyers
Stars:Anne Hathaway, Robert De Niro, Rene Russo, Nat Wolff
The Buzz: One positive thing we can say about The Intern: It seems marketed to a demographic of people who don't spend their time hating on Anne Hathaway. Our mom thinks Annie is sweet and she will see the latest Nancy Meyers movie on opening weekend and admire the story's messages and the Pottery Barn sets.

The Green Inferno (2013)

Certificate R   -   Adventure | Horror
A group of student activists travels to the Amazon to save the rain forest and soon discover that they are not alone, and that no good deed goes unpunished.
Director:Eli Roth
Stars:Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Aaron Burns, Kirby Bliss Blanton
The Buzz: Are young activists just meddling teenagers? Part of Eli Roth's macabre imagination addresses this question head on in his long awaited/long delayed return to the big screen, which finds Roth tipping his hat to Cannibal Holocaust and other genre classics ... before filling that hat with even more terror, torture, and dehumanization. And humor. Eli Roth's inescapable humor. As always, critics are divided as to whether or not Roth's plays for laughs buttress the story or derail it, but we will say the thought of watching what happens after this particular tribe gets high from marijuana smoke might get us to brave seeing it opening weekend. Way, way, way less exciting are the reports of what befalls his lead character, Justine, played by Lorenza Izzo, who will next be seen in Knock Knock. If you saw Aftershock, the survival/horror story that Roth co-wrote, produce, and starred in for director Nicolás López, you'll recognize many of the faces here before they meet their respective fates.

Stonewall (2015)

Certificate R   -   Drama
A young man's political awakening and coming of age during the days and weeks leading up to the Stonewall Riots.
Director:Roland Emmerich
Stars:Jeremy Irvine, Jonny Beauchamp, Joey King, Caleb Landry Jones
The Buzz: We totally understand why, after years of making special effects heavy blockbuster movies, that Roland Emmerich would want to make a smaller, narrative driven project that means something to him as an out gay man. But the decision to frame a story about the Stonewall Inn riots around Jeremy Irvine's lily white, fresh-off-the-Port-Authority-bus character was ill advised, and it'll be tough for the movie to rise above the pre-release backlash. The initial look at the movie went down the wrong tube with pretty much everyone familiar with Stonewall, a happening that's never far from people's minds; in fact, one of the riot's best known figures, Marsha P. Johnson, has enjoyed a posthumous resurgence in popularity over the last few years. There's an excellent free documentary on her available on YouTube, FYI.

Labyrinth of Lies (2014)

Certificate R   -   History
A story that exposes the conspiracy of prominent German institutions and government branches to cover up the crimes of Nazis during World War II.
Director:Giulio Ricciarelli
Stars:André Szymanski, Alexander Fehling, Friederike Becht, Johannes Krisch
The Buzz: Giulio Ricciarelli's documentary has been chosen as Germany's official selection for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 2016 ceremonies.

99 Homes (2014)

Certificate R   -   Drama
Metascore: 71/100
A father struggles to get back the home that his family was evicted from by working for the greedy real estate broker who's the source of his frustration.
Director:Ramin Bahrani
Stars:Andrew Garfield, Michael Shannon, Laura Dern, Clancy Brown
The Buzz: Nice to see Andrew Garfield out of superhero mode and back to making hard dramas; here he faces off against Michael Shannon for issue-oriented writer/director Ramin Bahrani (Goodbye Solo/At Any Price). Bahrani and his cast just picked up the Deauville American Film Festival's Grand Prize, putting them in company with films such as Beasts of the Southern Wild, Take Shelter, and Little Miss Sunshine.

A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story (2015)

Certificate PG-13   -   Documentary | Biography | Family
A documentary following the life of Lizzie Velasquez, her triumphant journey to the other side of bullying, and her mission to inspire and empower a more positive online environment.
Director:Sara Hirsh Bordo
Stars:Lizzie Velasquez
The Buzz: One of the great things about Sara Hirsh Bordo's documentary on Lizzie Velasquez is that it shows how busy -- and hectic -- Lizzie's life is at times because she's so in demand as an author and motivational speaker.

The Keeping Room (2014)

Certificate R   -   Drama
Metascore: 64/100
Left without men in the dying days of the American Civil War, three Southern women - two sisters and one African-American slave - must fight to defend their home and themselves from two rogue soldiers who have broken off from the fast-approaching Union Army.
Director:Daniel Barber
Stars:Brit Marling, Hailee Steinfeld, Sam Worthington, Muna Otaru
The Buzz: We love the thought of Hailee Steinfeld in another period film, this time joined by Brit Marling, who always makes interesting role choices. We've heard some rumblings about Daniel Barber's direction -- some people say he doesn't fully land the story despite a powerful third act -- but the thought of a film about gender and race that doesn't shout its intentions has us feeling curious and optimistic.

Mississippi Grind (2015)

Certificate R   -   Drama
Metascore: 73/100
Down on his luck and facing financial hardship, Gerry teams up with younger charismatic poker player, Curtis, in an attempt to change his luck. The two set off on a road trip through the South with visions of winning back what's been lost.
Directors:Anna Boden | Ryan Fleck
Stars:Ben Mendelsohn, Ryan Reynolds, Yvonne Landry, Anthony Howard
The Buzz: This drama first caught our eye because Ben Mendelsohn looks a lot like Martin Short on the poster, then we realized it's the latest project from filmmaking duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck to fly a bit under the radar since their breakthrough feature Half Nelson, which was almost 10 years ago. Savvy distributor A24 is behind the project, but it's one of the releases they put out on VOD long before its theatrical release, so it could be a handful of losing-at-poker metaphors for the filmmakers, Mendelsohn, and his co-star, Ryan Reynolds.

The Reflektor Tapes (2015)

Documentary | Music
A blend of interviews, concert footage, and personal moments chronicle the making of the band Arcade Fire's album, Reflektor.
Director:Kahlil Joseph
Stars:Win Butler, Régine Chassagne, Arcade Fire
The Buzz: We've always thought there could be an emperor's new clothes situation going on if we ever poked behind Arcade Fire's curtains, and that seems to be the case based on the initial reviews of the documentary they created with Kahlil Joseph, the music video director known for stretching the boundaries of the art form. No one familiar with the band would ever deny their humanitarian commitment to Haiti - nor should anyone disrespect it - but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't a bit painful to watch the band perform in the commune of Jacmel, according to an ardent fan and critic. Said differently: if we were talking about U2, The Reflektor Tapes is more Zoo TV than Rattle & Hum
